Reply to "WHAT the heck is an API WARNING?"

Hi Brion,

When you post a listing to eBay through Auctiva and the listing posts successfully but eBay has a message they want to communicate with you with respect to the listing, the message their system returns will be recorded in your account in the form of an API warning.

Cryptic as some of them may be, these API warnings are actually the exact warning messages that eBay’s API (Application Programming Interface) returned when we submitted the listings in question to eBay on your behalf and have not been altered by our system in any way.

The API warning you are seeing in your account is actually nothing that you need to be concerned about. The condition in the listings was specified both in the Item Specifics section and in the new Item Condition drop down menu, so the warning messages are just telling you that the duplicate condition specified in the Item Specifics section was dropped.

If you were to deselect the Condition from within the Item Specifics section, you would not receive these warnings. However, despite the warnings, nothing is actually wrong with these listings so that is not really something you need to do.

I hope this helps. If you would like to get in touch with our customer support team about anything directly, you can do so from within your account by clicking the “Help” tab and then clicking the “File a Support Request” button on the ensuing page.
