Something else you can do with that code, Carol and Dani, if you want to dress up your template a bit without slowing it down...make your top and left borders a lighter shade than the bottom and right. And make them a little wider. You come out with a 3-D frame effect.

So, you ask, why not just enter the "outset" attribute instead of "solid" to your border style and let it do the work for you. That would be great in a all-IE6 world, but when Firefox gets ahold of it, watch out. It chooses the light and dark shades the same way Ray Charles or Stevie Wonder would. Better that you retain some control of those colors. They'll still be a little different in each browser, but not enough so's people notice.

By the way, despite what they say, the number of truly "web-safe" colors was down in the 20's last I looked Wink
