Reply to "why does my screen jump around when doing my description???"

my screen jumps around whenever I try to put a single quotation mark in my description - doing that opens up a "find" box at the bottom and the cursor jumps to it. I have to try several times (closing the search box each time) before the cursor will stay in the right place and actually let me add the quote mark. I'm using windows xp and firefox.
