Hi. I'm just about ready to post my first listing through Auctiva. While I normally use html, I like that Auctiva offers more pictures, the Store Window, and templates. It took me awhile to fix my html code to look decent, but I did it.

Here are my questions:
1). I'm not ready to use Auctive checkout or insurance. How do I still offer USPS insurance in my auctions?

2). Most of the time I use Calculated Shipping for US ONLY and do not specify for Worldwide because it can be different once I box it up. I usually quote my International buyers two different costs and send an invoice. Can I still do this?

3). I use Andale hidden counters. I did not select a Auctiva counter. Will I have to manually enter them now from Andale?

Thanks so much!

Make sure that you do not have the Auctiva Checkout selected, and your USPS shipping insurance will work as normal. And the same goes for your shipping.

I'm not sure about the counters...

If you imported listings haven't shown-up by tonight, I'd say you should file a support case inquiry on the HELP page, they'll fix it for you. Usually I believe it is supposed to take no more than 6 hours.
MissLadyKat,

It typically takes 4-6 hours for your listings to be imported once you sign up. If it has been significantly longer than that, please file a support case using the appropriate link on our help page and our support staff will assist you.

...now for your numbered questions:

1) Just disable Auctiva Shipping Insurance at Auctiva -> My Account(tab) -> Auctiva Shipping Insurance Settings. However, if you wish to use Auctiva Shipping Insurance, this is how it works: If you use Auctiva Checkout and have Auctiva Shipping Insurance enabled, which are default settings for your account, your customers will have the option of buying insurance for the prices indicated at Auctiva -> My Account -> Auctiva Shipping Insurance Settings -> Rates and Details, which are the same rates as USPS. Of each $1.30 you receive, we would bill you $1.05 and the insurance would be purchased by Auctiva on your behalf. This revenue sharing insurance plan leaves you with a profit of at least 25 cents every time a customer purchases insurance through one of your auctions, while the rate charged to the customer is no more than USPS would charge. Auctiva Shipping Insurance policies are honored by U-Pic and complete claim forms and filing instructions can be found at http://www.U-Pic.com

2) For your international shipping option, just select "Other(see item description)". This will allow the buyer to fill in the appropriate shipping cost based on the quote you have given him/her.

3) Yes, in order to use an Andale counter when listing through Auctiva, you will have to enter them manually. The only counter we offer on our lister page is a free visible Sellathon counter.

I hope this clears things up=)

Um, Mike, USPS rates went up starting at $1.35. So, is Auctiva insurance still at $1.30? I didn't see this mentioned anywhere. I just keep reading that it is the same.

I posted my auction and everything went well, just it says I don't offer Shipping Insurance (because I said Not Offered next to Auctiva Ship. Ins.) and I had disabled it. Should I have marked it optional??

Boy, so much to read and learn! Thank you for everyone's help!
MissLadyKat,

1) Yep, even though USPS rates went up, ours will remain the same...at least for the time being.

2) If you want your buyer to have the option of purchasing shipping insurance, you should mark it as optional. Then, since you have Auctiva Shipping Insurance disabled, you'll be responsible for purchasing the insurance policy with the insurance money that will be added to the total if the buyer elects to purchase it.
