Active X

I am having the same problem. I cannot get Active X to download. Need help because I don't like the Html upload. It takes way to long. I had Windows XP reinstalled so I am starting all over with all my settings.

IE8 may still not be supported by Auctiva. IE8 isn't yet officially released as final product by Microsoft. Last I checked, it went from beta to Release Candidate in late January. That's usually followed by final within 90 days. Most sites won't adopt server page code to support the product until it's final; and complexity of code and testing take time. However, there are reports from other members that setting IE8 to IE7 compatibility mode works. If you have RC1, use the Compatibility View button on the toolbar.

In order to use the Auctiva Uploader through Internet Explorer, the Active X component should be installed on your browser (which you should be prompted to install automatically when you visit the Auctiva Uploader page) and the component must be enabled. To check on these things, you will want to select Manage Add-ons -> Enable or Disable Add-ons from the "Tools" menu within Internet Explorer.

The initial list you are presented with should be called "Add-ons currently loaded in Internet Explorer" and the add-on you will need to look for is called "Auctiva Image Uploader". If you see it there but it is disabled, go ahead and enable it and that may resolve your problem.

I'm not aware of any specific compatibility issues between Internet Explorer 8.0, however, as Danno mentioned, it is just a BETA version, so it likely has a number of issues that Microsoft will need to get ironed out before they release it from the BETA stage.
