Does the "additional item" shipping charge refer to multiples of the same item, or to combined shipping on different purchases? My first interpretation was for the same item, but then I wasn't so sure.

Hi, that can be open to interpretation.
After all you could have a dozen tins of the same paint on one listing or a dozen different colours with a listing each and it could still apply.
However if you are selling paint brushes and tins of paint it quite literally gets a little messy
I tend to avoid this option myself and ask buyers to request a combined p&p quote.

good advice - thanks. I had selected it assuming it was for multiples of the same item but then it seems to conflict with my combined shipping rule statement...so now even I don't know what it means, let alone potential customers!
