Hi! Newbie questions - sorry! If I paste the scrolling store html into my own template that I already use for listing via eBay's turbolister, will my new listings be added automatically to the scrolling store as I go along adding new listings daily? Also, I specifically want to place the scrolling store feature at the top of my template rather than at the bottom - I have been using another scrolling store service that has automatically placed their feature at the top all along and I really like it there, but I noticed when Auctiva came on board that it is automatically placed at the end of my listings... I just want to be sure that if I use the paste option to get it at the top when I list, that it won't subsequently be added in again at the bottom? Thanks!

Hi,
Position of Scrolling View of Store Window:
The "scrolling" view of the store window is set to appear at the top of your listings. It can, however, be inserted at the bottom of your listings if you insert the store window html in the bottom of the html description. The store window html can be found at Auctiva -> Store -> Store Window -> Store Window HTML. The customer should be advised to check out the "full" view of the store window as it is set to appear at the bottom of your listings. To preview this view, go to Auctiva -> Store -> Store Window -> Edit Store Window.

Thank you,
Auctiva Support.
Ok - now I am more confused! If the window is set to automatically be inserted at the top of my listings, then why did it get inserted at the bottom of my current listings, in which I did nothing with html at all? I simply signed up for your service and it was added to my current listings for me - and it is showing up at the bottom of my listings? If it is really supposed to be at the top of the listings automatically I want to make sure I understand that I do NOT need to add any specific html to my listing template? Again if that is the case, then I guess I need to have a clear explanation as to why the scrolling store is showing up currently at the bottom of my existing listings? If I need to add the html to my template, I will do so - I think I'm more confused now than when I started! I just want to know exactly what I need to do to ensure that the scrolling store will show up at the top of my listings? Thanks!
Hi Sweetiepeas

I think I can help you on this question. When you first sign up for auctiva and have all of your current auctions imported into auctiva (using the token) auctiva grabs all your ebay listings and updates them with auctiva software, ie: the scrolling store

Because the auctions were not originally created with auctiva the store is automatically placed at the bottom of every auction.

This only happens the very first time you join. Once you start using auctiva's listing software the store will automatically go at the top of every auction.

So if you like it at the top, just carry on listing and the store will go there, if you prefer it lower down (many do) then you would have to manually place the store tag / html code inside your template.

Hope this helps your confusion.

Carol.
I was going to ask that question .. thanks for that ... however I have a supplementary.

I listed my first item on Auctiva on Thursday night, by Friday it had set-up a Rolling Store Window with that item plus everything it imported from listing I had put in via turbo-lister. Ok ...so far

However, on Saturday, Sunday and tonight I have scheduled about another 50+ auctions, but the only items showing up in my Store Window are those from Thursday night .. even in the very latest auctions. This means that none of these items are showing ... anybody know why this could be - I could understand it in my older listings but why are my newer listing not showing ?
I may have answered - partly - my own question. I went into the store and made 4 items Featured items. These four are now appearing in my scrolling window, but not the other 46.
DOe this mean I have to make every item a "Featured item" to get it inot the Store Window? I din't have to do this for the first lot that it put in.
Also this will make the Store itself a bit unwieldy as the featured items all g down the right hand side of the page.

What id I make them featured ,,, wait until they appear in the scrolling window and then "un-Feature" ... Will they stay there?
Hi Gooner,

The store window is set to display 12 items at a time favoring items that are ending nearest the time of the one being viewed, and is refreshed every 4 hours. Once some of your listings end, they’ll be replaced in the store window with new ones at next refresh. We will be increasing the store window capacity to 20 in the near future.

All your featured items will always appear in the store window as long as there aren't more than 12 but if you unfeature them, they won't always appear in the store window anymore.

I hope this helps=)

Do you have to do anything special to "feature" your items - I just list my items directly using turbo lister and have the auctiva scrolling store automatically set to upload - so I'm thinking there is nothing else I should have to do to get my listings to show up? Did I read right that only 12 of my items will show up - it doesn't continuously scroll through all of them if you were to sit and look at long enough for it to do so? After the 1st 12, it repeats the same items?
Hi Sweetiepeas,

Yes, it only shows 12 of your listings, it repeats 12 listings, showing the ones ended ing soonist. Auctiva said that in later updates, not sure when ? I think in May of this year, they are going to try and increase that number to 20 listings showing.

But for now its only 12 in the scrolling window on your auction page. The Showcase however shows everything you have up for sale. Buyers can click on a link in your scrolling store, which takes them to a gallery type store, this is where you can do search commands and put in featured auctions.

The scrolling store is great to attract buyers, but it can also confuse buyers into thinking you only have 12 items for sale. So you need to write something in your template to let them know that the scrolling store window is just a SMALL EXAMPLE of items you have listed.

Hope this helps.
Thanks Mike - now I understand - what I need to do is ensure that the 12 items I want to appear in the scrolling window are the ones I want to promote the most. I think this is satisfactory for me as I have a lot of similar type items although 20 will give me more options.
Whiz has the given the idea of "helping" the potential bidder and this is something I will try to do on my next set of listings, however the placement of this needs to be close to the store window otherwise it will be confusing.
