Seems like a solvable problem on your end. Remove chunks of your description until the item lists, then revise it to add back what you want on eBay leaving out the offending text they don't like.

I think this error message makes it fairly obvious that this is an eBay issue, and not Auctiva. They don't like the words your trying to use.

You could also use our GetHTML feature on your saved listing and try listing this item on eBay directly pasting in the HTML into eBays source window in their HTML editor when you get to that point. The reason for trying that is to hope that eBay gives a better error message about the exact text that is causing the infraction on their site, than they give back to use through the API.

You need to be more proactive in trying things youself instead of just blaming eBay and us for your standstill. And eBay really needs to give better error messages. In this instance they should tell you the exact text that is breaking their rule so it can be removed.
Hi Golddustpl, what are you trying to list? The item I mean. certain items will violate an ebay policy and will return an API error without a reason..for instance, selling Airgun Pellets..if you try to list them and you have worldwide shipping as an option checked, you will get the API error because you cannot ship certain items like this worldwide.

Also when you choose certain categories, its a required function to add Item Specifics...I cant think of one off hand, but they are there...this also will return an API error with no reason sometimes. Check to make sure what your selling isnt in ebays listing prohibitions and check to see if your chosen category requires specifics. It could be that this is whats causing your problem. Hope this helps!

Good Luck, William
I am proactive by trying to remedy this problem that no one wants to admit too. I have been listing my coins on Auctiva and ebay since May. My items and descriptions are very similar except for the dates. So that is why I am frustrated with no one giving me the correct answers. I have done everything you and ebay have suggested and it is still not resolved. I wish one of you would really look into the problem instead of telling me that it is the others problem.
Yes, do what wayoutwest suggests.

But I have to say that, when I asked, you claimed there's no specific error message but Auctiva says that it actually says "The item cannot be listed or modified. The title and/or description may contain improper words, or the listing or seller may be in violation of eBay policy."

Guess which bit of info is more useful to those trying to help figure out your problem.
I have the same problem and the same API error.
I used my description for cameras for half years and everything was ok. Now I have an error. I spent several hours experimenting with different titles, editing and cutting description, but the result is the same. Then I removed Auctiva template and item was successfuly posted. I tried different templates, but the result is the same.
I cannot explain this. I like Auctiva templates and would like to use them further.

That's the darndest thing I've heard of lately.

I've been using all Auctiva templates until recently when I began using a specifically designed Auctiva template for my auctions. There's still a good combination of both templates up..and I've yet to receive an API error.

Would you mind placing a practiceboard of the html here so I can see what's wrong?

EBAY has ALOT of new rules and regs and with that stupid..err..yeah, stupid Skype button that's booting out alot of auctions...I'd just like to see the html so I could try and narrow it down for you.

Thanks, Donna

Can anyone help me please...

Sounds like you have not generated a token yet.

In Auctiva, go to My Account / Settings / eBay Settings
http://www.auctiva.com/account/ebayaccount.aspx

and click the Get New Token link. This will then take you to ebay, where you will give Auctiva permission to access your eBay account.
