Last night i tried to post 44 auctions to the mature audience category. They all failed with the following API error message. "The item cannot be listed or modified. The title and/or description may contain improper words, or the listing or seller may be in violation of eBay policy." None of the discriptions or titles have "bad" or lewd wording. The only discription I have is "you are bidding on a new sealed DVD." And the pictures are clean. What could the problem be? Help me please.

I tryed to list some surgical gloves and got the same message. All very clean listing!

Wayoutwest...I had no idea you could not accept paypal for mature audiences..I once listing some cards with half naked ladies, when I first started on ebay..someone must have turned me in, because my auction got pulled..and I even had a bid on it! But I was told I listed in the wrong category, but I had no idea at the time. I am going to list them again soon, so I am glad to know, not to put paypal on the listing!

Thanks for the info! Donna #2
surgical gloves might have gotten kicked out because of their medical devices policy. Not sure that's why, just a guess.

welcome on the paypal thing. Seen a few folks get in trouble for that Frown Saw a person not too long ago get in trouble for selling tobacco and accepting paypal. Thing is, his was an antique pack of cigarrettes (unopened) and sold as a collectible. Let's face it, a pack of cigareets from the 40s or 50s is NOT gonna be fit to smoke - laf!

nudie cards - I've got a few decks of those (both male and female versions). picked them up back awhile back. Waiting to list until get store fully stocked. Have tons of crap for various categories that I'm waiting on listing (old avon bottles, computer odds and ends, a few VHS movies, etc.) Plan is this fall to have store well stocked and then launch all those items as auction items and get my store name out there to various categories outside of my main category. Dunno if will work or not, but gonna try it.
I tried removing all the paypal stuff. I didn't have anything on the auctiva preferences because I know you can't use paypal but I did have some prefereenes checked on the eay site about paypal in case I have some listings that don't fall in the mature audience category. I went ahead and removed those too. Then I tried to list one item to see if it worked and it failed too. Now I don't know what to do. My sister listed her mature audience items last week through auctiva without problem. Same items as mine. I need major help.
go to your saved listings here in auctiva and select 'Get HTML', copy what it gives you, go to practiceboard.com and paste it in, and then click the button to view and then get the url it gives you and paste it here so can take a look? from your OP, it looks like your description is so basic that it shouldnt have kicked it out, but there might be something in your policies or your title that is triggering ebays filters.
Something I just thought of - ebay used to require that you have a credit card on file to prove youre old enough to access mature categories. Do you have that done on ebay's site?

Try browsing to the mature categories by clicking hereand see if can get in without any problems. If says have to put cc on file, then might mean that ebay was blocking you from getting in, so do that and then try to list.

Hope this helps.

OMG! I have always been able to get into the mature audience category but just found out because of your posting that I wasn't ID Verified. Who knew! I just became verified and now I'm going to make a couple edits to my listings and try it again! What an ordeal. Why didn't they tell me that when I signed up to sell. Thank you so much for your time wayoutwest. Your input has been so much help!! Wish me luck.
