I had gone around and around trying to figure out why ebay kept denying my listing. It was so frustrating! I listed a skeleton listing (no text or pics) to see if it would go through and it did. After I included my copied text from original listing it denied it again. I finally figured out that it was because i had the words "western union" in my shipping text. Ebay will not allow us to offer western union services or the words cash! They almost forced me to add paypal to my payment options. I refuse to give them any more of my money. Paypal fees should not only be charged to the seller. It should be split 1/2 with the buyer. It is not a convenience for me. I do not mind checks and money orders but my customers like the ease of that payment. I have found that my customers dont even realize the sellers are charged to get paid by paypal payments. Most offer to pay the fees after finding out. Ebay should not deny western union the chance to do business on ebay. That is unamerican I think! So if you are getting an error make sure you dont have the words western union or cash in your listing!!

i think it is the word 'cash' that was giving you the problems. i include the words 'western union' in my auctions (as in: I DO NOT ACCEPT WESTERN UNION PAYMENTS) and i have never had problems with my auctions launching.

i did have to take the word 'cash' out though.

just imagine how frustrating it would be if you were trying to liquidate your 'Johnny Cash' collection!
Yeah, so it's not the words "Western Union" -- it's that eBay doesn't allow sellers to offer that option.

But you can work around it easily. Just make sure "money order" is an option. If people want to use Western Union then they will (or they'll ask you about it).

If you encourage buyers to use Western Union (especially in your listings) you might give off possible scammer vibes, I'm afraid, at least to some buyers. eBay's got it plastered all over the place about how Western Union is a bad move for buying, etc.
I know...if I were Western Union I would have thought sueing was a HUGE possibility. It WAS the words western union in my listing that was the problem. The words were not posted anywhere else. My auction was only passed through AFTER I erased ALL text from my listing. Then after it posted I inserted the text and the auction was flagged again and then I received the warning from Ebay that they had noticed I was encouraging buyers to use an illegial (to ebay) payment suggestion. I refuse to use paypal. I am not encouraging anyone to use WU BUT I prefer it because it is fastest and I love personal checks or any other kind of money order. Ebay does ot want Western Union mentioned ANYWHERE.
