...BUT, my ebay account is in good standing, credit card info is current, etc.. Could the fact that I previously had a paypal account and then closed it be affecting my account activities?? Thank you.

I had the same problem and I found out it was with where I had selected my category and they were wanting to know how many and of course it did not pertain to what I was listing. I was trying to list a grand ole Opery shirt in the tickets category and because I could not check how many tickets I had... my listing was not accepted at E-bay. After some checking and re-checking I was finally able to figure it out and do some changing by going into tickets, then other and it worked ok. So, to make it short it is probably an error that has to do with the category you selected or something against E-bays policy Or an error in your listing that needs to be corrected! Re-check and Re-check your listing till you find what you have done wrong....correct... and re-correct if you must until you are able to post listing. I hope this tidbit of info helped you!
