If you get this error message:

The Legacy XML format used in this request is being phased out. All applications should migrate to the Unified Schema to avoid loss of service.

Please ignore it.

This is the technical explanation:
The error is refering to a change eBay made to their API program. Legacy and Uniform Schema to be specific. This 'error', does not effect your listing... but it is eBay's way of telling third parties that we need to migrate to the 'new' Uniform Schema. We are almost completely migrated, and the deadline is June 1, so everything is fine.

The non-technical explanation:
Ignore this error... in fact we probably are just going to mask it (you won't even notice that eBay returns this error).

This warning will not prevent it from listing to ebay. I get this warning on some of my listings also after I post to ebay. It is not a failure warning.

so if your listings aren't posting to ebay then there should be another warning saying why.

there is a error check button on the bottom of the listing page, you can click on that to see if it has errors that are preventing it from listing. It will tell you why.
hi!!!

im getting the API ERROR Failure also. But mine is for a different reason. the failure message says that i have inappropriate content. how can this be when im just trying to list a ring.

Auctiva responded by saying to remove the $ sign in my auction title. i tried that and tried relisting (ive tried listing this 5 times) and still got the API Error.

Has anyone had this happen? inapproriate content? Confused

it could be a variety of things. ebay's system now analyzes the content of your description and title looking for things that violate policy or appear to violate policy.

do you have words in there that when taken out of context might be thought of as referring to a mature items product? or a .com mentioned?

that's just two of the things that can trigger a rejection.

if you still cant find it, copy and paste your description here or to practiceboard.com and we can have a look at it.
