Auctiva appending to custom template

I use a custom template, a very basic and clean layout since unfortunately many of the templates look like they were designed in the early '90's.

One issue is the image tag doesn't seem to work, the code is there, and it worked when I saved and previewed but doesn't show on active listings.

The other issue is I have the following appended to my listings:

This wasn't in the preview of the editor, is the extra blurb from the counter perhaps?
