I am a firefox user, so are ~25% other users on the internet.

I'd also gamble that among ebay sellers (who are probably smarter than the average newbie computer user) that the figure might be a little higher?

Auctiva appears to not work properly with firefox.

Auctiva appears to have a few features that depend on ActiveX?

One example that I have found within my first 20 mins of trying out Auctiva is the "Create or Modify Shipping and Payment Details" link in the listing profile area.

In firefox, this doesn't appear to do anything.
In IE, it brings me to the shipping profile area.

Are there any plans of the Auctiva development team to start testing pages & features in Firefox as well? Many times when people switch to firefox, they REALLY switch -- and refuse to use IE.

~25% is a pretty big chunk of people to have your service not working properly for.

Found something else that doesn't work in firefox:

When using the WYSIWYG description editor, trying to copy text from the editor to clipboard I get...

"YOUR BROWSER SECURITY SETTINGS DON'T PERMIT THE EDITOR TO AUTOMATICALLY EXECUTE COPYING OPERTATIONS. Please use the keyboard for that (CTRL+C)"

... but CTRL+C doesn't work either.
I've been using Auctiva for almost a year.

I use Firefox and a PC.

FF works fine for me, however, I understand it's frustrating and doesn't negate the fact that you're having problems. But it works for me successfully and has for quite some time. (close to a year)

I'm sorry something is off with what you're trying to do.

Before answering this thread, I thought it would be best to run an auction via Auctiva to see if there were any bugs going on.

Nope. I just uploaded three auctions via Auctiva and designed a brand new one.

Everything you stated in every posting worked just fine for me.

If I could advise you, it's wise to take the online class if you haven't.

Customer service is really good here, hit help at the top and send in customer help ticket.

Good Luck,
Donna

Hehe... I've used computers for over 15 years. About 10 of those as a unix (linux, *bsd) system administrator (in addition to continually using and administrating Win* based systems as well).

FWIW, I'm on Windows 2000 using FireFox 1.5.0.3

EDIT: Ah... haha I thought you meant an online computer class Wink

THIS works fine for you?....

You don't get the warning? and/or using CTRL+C works for you? I'm talking about the text IN the WYSIWYG auction description area.... the part of the listing tool with the font selector and the B for Bold and I for italics, etc.
I don't get that warning when using the WYSIWYG editor. But I do know that I can't right-click to "select all" the text. Instead I have to use the button specifically for it in the editor. If you switch to the text editor, of course, you can right-click, select all and copy, but you get all the code as well.

Oh, and for the most part Firefox works great for me as well (on XP).

I use FF too - exclusively - and I've successfully listed thousands of auctions and store items with Auctiva.

Nope, I've never received the warning either.

Has to be how each one of us has our individual settings..doncha think?

I'm with DH and Angel on this one...thousands of auctions listed and have never seen the message.

I have NEVER EVER seen the message you copied and pasted in all the years I've been using my computer..Honest!

It absolutely has to be your browser settings are different from ours.

("YOUR BROWSER SECURITY SETTINGS DON'T PERMIT THE EDITOR TO AUTOMATICALLY EXECUTE COPYING OPERTATIONS. Please use the keyboard for that (CTRL+C)")

Best of Luck,

Thanks for the edit and the wink.

Hope you're having better luck today. Didja fill outa customer help ticket?

I don't have ANY experience in Windows 2000..so I'm not your best brain to be picking. XP user and FF/Opera/sometimes IE user.

Thanks for the screen shot..that should help others to help you.

BE sure to fill out a customer help ticket and they could advise you.

Good Luck,
Donna
