Hello,

I scheduled a couple of listings the other day and when I did the error check it passed. The next day when I checked to see if the listings had posted I see their is an error to post because:

API Error

Either your Description, Location, or Checkout Instructions appear to have Java script in it according to eBay. eBay is very strict about anything that looks like it may be Java script. Try checking your description for parenthesis and try posting without them if they do exist.

When I checked my Description there they were....a couple of Parenthesis () in a text box I created. The text box was a mini disclaimer.

So can the error check be set-up to catch these little "Java" scripts?

Honest error, I'm not a code person.

Hi catalystmusic,

I went ahead and removed the objectionable Javascript from the following listings within your Auctiva account:

1) Porcelan Ceramic Bell Antique Look
2) Kaiser Collectible Plate Flower Design Free Wall Hangar

...so you should now be able to post these listings successfully withou making any further changes.

I'm not sure if it would be feasible to incorporate a scan for objectionable Javascript into the "Error Check" feature, but I will communicate that suggestion to our developers for consideration.

Hi Mike,

Thanks for the help. I was probably editing them the same time you were. Cool Luckily the error came back and told me exactly what to look for, the parenthesis.

I was later thinking about the request to remove questionable javascripts and said to myself "there are probably tons of javascrips on each listing, so filtering out a few might be a daunting task for the programmers." But hey...if they can figure it out why not?
