Hi Lauri,

The answer is yes and NO! As in, you don't want to do that.

Generally, you only want to use the Auctiva insurance with carriers that don't include their own insurance as part of the base shipping price, e.g. Fedex and UPS cover the first $100 of item value with insurance that is included in the shipping price with no opt-out. The Auctiva plan covers only the excess over another carrier's plan (unless this has recently changed), so you would literally have to file to both Auctiva's insurer/U-Pic and the carrier to get coverage with a split plan. Plus, the rate for a split plan would be more than a single by the carrier (in most cases). Hope that makes sense.

In essence, the one carrier that the Insurance program targets and is best for is USPS. Note, Auctiva provides comparision insurance rates to that carrier.

You can turn-on the Insurance for other carriers in the Auctiva account settings, but I'd only recommend you do that for other than Fedex or UPS. Other freight and delivery services should be checked for their rates and options.

Hope that advise helps.

Danno
