A better explanation of this would be that Ebay's categories and sub-categories goes farther than what Auctiva allows you to go.
Example:
Ebay - Baby > Feeding > Formula > Enfamil

Auctiva - Baby > Feeding > Formula

I think this has made my last two auctions end with no bids and the fees keep piling up even though I don't get a sale.

Is there something that can be done?

Hi, Kitchensink -
I've noticed this too...with great frustration!
Last night, I tried listing a pair of gold earrings that are not by a specific listed designer and that need to be described in detail to get placed where bidders will find them. eBay didn't suggest any detail categories; so I tried to get enough detail by putting as much detail as I could in my listing title and in the description I used under Item Detail and I kept getting told by eBay that my detail "tag" was too long. So, after posting a question under Listing here and receiving no response, I tried just putting one detail about my item in at a time, then the price and clicking add.
I don't know if its going to work because my listing isn't scheduled to post till later this evening, but if it doesn't I'm filing a Support Request.
I'll let you know if it works.

Unfortunately, Auctiva's Item Detail is sorely lacking in many categories. You have to go straight to eBay once your listing launches and revise through eBay. That will allow you to add all the Item Detail you want. It's a pain, but the savings we enjoy by hosting our images through Auctiva far offsets this inconvenience. Hopefully, this will be included in Auctiva's program updates in the future. Good Luck Newbie!

Hi Community,

We conduct routine category updates every Thursday afternoon to pick up the latest changes eBay has made to their category structure, so I suspect eBay must have made some changes to this part of their category tree within the last week. This issue will most likely be resolved with our next category update which will be taking place in the next couple hours.

If this discrepancy still exists tomorrow morning, please contact our customer support team by completing the web form on the following page of our site: http://www.auctiva.com/help/requesthelp.aspx
