What is going on with the site? It would really be helpful if when the site had problems, someone could make an announcement...give people an ETA if you have one...as in when might we be able to list or even access the site?

Pretty frustrating to get kicked out of editing a listing and not be able to log back in for hours, then come to the forums and find nothing as far as an announcement, come ON, that is how eBay does things, and the only reason they can get away with it is because they don't have competition. They have lost seller loyalty, though, sellers are moving customers to St. Elsewhere as much as they can... You guys have got to communicate, is that really so much to ask?

Hi Gio,
I am TOTALLY with you. I understand this is a free site...but with all the work we do to list and then have a message pop up that updates are being performed.

I just logged in and it gave me the routine "THURSDAY EVENING UPDATE MESSAGE". Am I totally insane or is today Tuesday and right now...Tuesday evening.

Well, I've been checking out other auction-listing sites and have found a couple.

Glad I'm not the only one experiencing this.

I understand that all services will have some downtime, it's the lack of communication that gets me.

Yup, just got that message too, about Thursday night maintenance. Before that it was just plain no access. Just got in, but don't know if I should work on listings or if I'll just lose all changes in the next few minutes...that is why communication would be helpful, I don't want to waste my time if it's going to be several hours or more of site issues.
I designated today to start working on listing all my auctions. I click Save on just my fourth one, and an error message pops up. My data is gone, and I can't log in for hours. I finally get through, and I get a maintenance message which doesn't even make sense ("we're down on Thursday nights for 6hrs around 10 PM"). This is really frustrating, I don't know what to do. I was hoping to get everything listed in a few hours, and I've hardly been able to start.
Things are definitely better than they were in months past. However, we're not fooling ourselves in thinking we've solved everything.

We're constantly working on building a better and more reliable system. I think those that have stuck it out over the past year or so, will have noticed remarkable improvement.

One positive from my end is the response time for the system admins and database admins working on the problem. If what they say is true (30 minutes till we're back), then that will be an improvement from issues we've had in the past.

This "FREE" service still beats much of what you could pay money for and have to deal with exactly the same kind of stuff. All the auction host companies have to serve the same protocols to ebay as one another. So no auction host is really better than another in that sense, other than internal auction helps offerings. Auctiva does it all for me. And "FREE IS FREE"

AMEN to that Brotha! Big Grin
For scheduled listings, it depends on what value you used for the option on the schedule page that says:

"If item is not posted at scheduled time, retry for:"

Let's say we come back online at 5pm, if your retry value was set to 30 minutes, then all auctions that you scheduled before 4:30 will fail to post. Auctions after 4:30 (prob 4:35 to be safe) should post.

Hope that makes sense.

For items that you used "post now" from the create listing page, they will not post. You'll have to reattempt posting those auctions if they have not already made it to eBay.

Kevin, I want to say thank you for posting all the updates and replys. You need to work on Sundays, it would keep alot of us that get frustrated and mad when problems happen and never hear a word from any one from Auctiva . We really like to hear what is going on and do not need any sugar coating. We just need to be informed, Thank you
