Hi!

Blogging is the fast, free and easy way to market your Auctiva store. It helps Google rank you higher and the more you often write the better your rank will get.

Here's why -

Google really likes it when sites are updated often with relevant text. Because a store normally has little text with each listing, Google doesn’t have much to work with to rank your store. That is where blogging comes in. It gives you a place to write text about the products that you are selling, or the type of store that you are running. If that text has keywords that Google can grab onto, you quickly help your store head towards the top of the list.

This is what you have to do make your blogging successful:

1. You have to write good, relevant blogs people will want to read
2. You have to include keywords that mean something to your business
3. You have to blog regularly

Your blog text keywords also determine what items show up as featured on your blogs page. So, your store ranks higher on Google, and you are establishing yourself as an expert in your field. And the best part is your customers have the product that they are reading about right in front of them awaiting purchase.

Hope that helps! Blog away!

Too much coffee... or not enough.

I can't find Auctiva's rules for Blog content. I will be new to the Blogging world, but am planning on entering soon, just a bit hesitant. I do sell on another site and was wondering if it was a no-no to list that link in an Auctiva blog, or if ebay's rules (see below) pertain to this site also. Thanks for any guidance.

"The following are examples of content or actions not permitted in the Community content areas (Reviews, Guides, Blog Entries, Wiki Articles, and Member-Created Product Descriptions):
Promoting or advertising to buy, sell, or trade any product or service listed or located outside of any eBay property (eBay, Half.com, eBay Stores, eBay Express, etc.). Sellers may only promote their Store or Sellers Other Items list, not individual listings"

Phil -

If your content is rich enough and you have enough in-bound links to your Auctiva Store it will rank in Google. How well it ranks is based on these factors. Blogging is one of the top ways to make this happen, especially if you get people linking to your blog over and over again because it is interesting/informative to them. We already have Auctiva Stores ranking in Google.

Here is a great article for optimizing your eBay Store and everything in it is true for getting the most traffic to your Auctiva Store as well. One thing to keep in mind: Auctiva Stores don't cost you anything and we give you access to your meta tags, keywords, custom store pages and blogs. And you can get a professionally designed store template too!

I'm really excited about being able to Blog here -- I do understand the critical aspect of this! I have a friend that is Blogging about her website (self-built) and is getting massive hits! I was thrilled when I found out we could blog here, needless to say. Smile

I am having a problem, though. The last two times I've tried to post my blog, it has gotten eaten Frown Is it just me or is it a system thing??

Blessings!

I looked all over that website that you had posted about free store formats but i couldnt find any free store formats? Also about half of the links on that webpage dont work or are down. i know that isnt your fault but its just an FYI. So this blog. If i type enough of them and have references to my store on other websites my store/item will come up in the google search engine correct?
Google picks up my blogs.

A New York Times Reporter contacted me the other day in regards to one of Southern Jewel's Emporium and interviewed me.

Here's another blog of mine which is comprised of online sellers. Ecommerce sales.

Auction Sellers Motivators Blog

The article comes out next Thursday.

By the way, this reporter found me by doing a Google search.

Also, I was spotlighted on the Technorati Buzz Monitor as being in the top 5 of online selling searches for blogs. Not bad!

My Best, Donna
