Hi,

I'm a brand new to selling and to Auctiva. I signed up with Auctiva a few weeks ago but have not listed any items yet. I am a little confused on several issues and would appreciate some help.

- How has Auctiva insurance been received by your buyers as opposed to USPS insurance. Have buyers seemed to mind that you as a seller have "made money" on them purchasing the insurance?
- How quickly does Auctiva insurance handle its claims?
- If a claim does need to be filed, do you as they seller initiate the claim? How do you handle buyers that will not cooperate?

- In using the showcase feature, can you place the showcase in your end of auction e-mails to up-sell at that point?

- Other than the cost of shipping itself, does it cost any more to ship via paypal than if you took the package directly to the PO?

- Any advise as far as listing or what to watch out for, would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks very much.

juniebird,

1) The buyer does not know that the seller has made money off the insurance purchase, and since the rate the buiyer pays is actually slightly less than USPS insurance, it doesn't come up. Also, USPS insurance covers international shipments for the same rate.

2) Auctiva Shipping Insurance policies are covered by U-Pic( http://www.U-Pic.com ). I'm not sure how long it typically takes them to handle claims but their contact information is available on their website.

3) Yes, the seller initiates the claim and must provide a completed claim form, which can be downloaded off the U-Pic website, and the shipping receipt. All that is required of the buyer is a signed affadavit stating the item was lost or damaged. This is necessary to prove to U-Pic that the item was indeed lost or damaged, so the buyer should cooperate if he wants his money back. If a buyer is non-cooperative, U-Pic may or may not be accomdating. You would have to ask them. The email address for their claims department is claims@U-Pic.com.

4) No, since the store window is a flash file, it will not be functional in an email.

5) I'm not sure...maybe someone else will be able to answer that one.

Welcome to Auctiva!

-Mike

Good sound information from the posters above. Re the shipping labels, I don't even bother with those. I just print the postage label on plain white copy / printer paper, cut it down to size, and tape it on the package with clear tape.

Best of luck to you on your eBay adventure! I think you'll be pleased with Auctiva, just make sure you have all your settings selected before you start making listings.
