Thanks Danno,

Yunno now I have been and done it, I don't really know what I have achieved!! Though I have to admit that I still get confused when talking Profiles and Templates.

I was really hoping that by saving the Template to the Saved Listings (unless I'm missing it, it can't be done on Closed Listings), that I would then be able to bulk upload to my new eBay Shop. But things like Title, Description, Price are in the Profile and as far as I can tell are not within the Saved Listing.

Am I just going about it the wrong way?

Any help appreciated.

Regards.

In order to make significant changes (like add Template) to a closed listing, you need to "Import" the listing. The Import Listing feature button on the Closed Listings page retrieves the listing from eBay and stores it in the Imported Listings folder on the Saved Listings page. Once it's a "Saved" listing, you can treat it like any other saved listing. Edit, Bulk change, Find & Replace, will all function as tools to aid in making updates, including the mass changes you need to bring in your Store listings. Find & Replace has the ability to make many mass changes, including application of certain profiles and Template (your original question).

Hi,

Hope you are ok, I have posted a question but unfortunately not had any replies.

The field I want to bulk edit is Marketing preferences ie remove bold as this was an expensive mistake.
1) once my listing is closed I know I can import them to saved but I cant find how to bulk edit bold, gallery etc without going into each listing which would be painful!

2) Regarding auto relist- can I alter the duration ie form a 10-7 in Active listings or would I have to stop autorelist and manually relist, not sure if stopping auto relist permantly takes it off that listing or if it will revert back to it the next relisting date?
If that is the case would I have to edit individually and amend the auto relist?

I am finding auto relist a hassle- any tips

Many thanks

Hi Danno,

I tried and the process worked but the end result seems to be some sort of combination of the old and the new templates - one sort of inside the other. Might be something to do with the fact that they are Custom Templates I suppose - and there I was being clever!!

Will keep having a play for a bit because it would save so much work.

Hi Danno,

Before I saw your reply I decided to see what happens when I replaced my old Custom Template with an Auctiva Template and it worked ok. So presumably it is my Custom Template which is at fault - no surprise there then!!

Trouble is it looks and works ok - there are listings now that are using it, its just this replacing lark (that would be so useful) that isn't working. I bet that I have just missed some key tags somewhere!!

Does practiceboard allow me to share the HTML for comment?

Hi,

Didn't see anything immediately obvious, but I might try a few tests. Only code that might be an issue is the Javascript, which may soon be disallowed. eBay is completely reformating the listing page and developing a coding standard. You'll know if you start getting API errors. Does that Javascript delete the eBay image (bottom) after 300 milliseconds? Big Grin That image moves to a new area at top of page with the new listing design.

Yes, code accidently placed within code does often cause some odd behavior. I was stepping through the template and it looks clean (with the noted exception), so it was a puzzling "mystery". I was going to run a test, but that observation would certainly explain that unexpected result with FIND & REPLACE.

Hope you can sort it out.

Danno
