Ok,
Let's see if I can ask this in a clear way.

I want to offer free guides from my eBay "About Me" Page to generate traffic and hopefully income through affiliate links in those guides.

I need a server, or host to have this guide available for people to download from. Eventually I would want to sell other types of information or eBooks, but for right now just want to take baby steps.

Does Auctiva have any services for what I want?

I appreciate any help. Sometimes setting this stuff up gets overwhelming.

Thanks, Monty

PS I'm very happy with the features on Auctiva I've used so far.

Hi Monty,

Auctiva isn't hosting eBook/.PDF/etc. yet, only pics. If they were to move to opening eCommerce services (see Poll I'm running in the Store Forum), it might be a logical extension to provide that function for those selling downloadable code or eBooks, so they might provide it at some point.

BTW.....There are free online services that do host .PDF and/or almost any type file for download.

fjmonty,

One gentleman was just asking about download for eBooks in the Listing Forum, and I suggested that eMailing the book might be the simple method (and gave a link to example running auction).

However, a download is something you'd want to "control". I wrote a special software beta product a few years back and got sign-ups to test. I controlled access by storing the file in "Yahoo Briefcase" and EMailing permission grants for downloadi, i.e. the EMail gave unlock to download. I'm trying to remember if that required the whole group to have Yahoo ID's or not, but that technique and service might be worth a look. Just checked, and my old file is still there.

I'm thinking Google may have a similar Document share (or limited access) feature to checkout.
