Ok, I've seen a few other posts about this, but I am new at this (yeah, the dreaded newbie..but please be kind, I need help)..and the answers have all been beyond my current skill level, and yes, I am techno challenged big time. I have changed my TOS and want to that to update and also want to change some of the templates (yes they are Auctiva templates) when I am relisting items. As other have posted, when you ask to select a new one, it does not delete the old one, just runs them together, and ok, I get the part about deleting the code of the old one...however, where does that code start and how the ..heck..am I suppose to know where to start deleting and where to stop...it all just still looks like alphabet soup to me. Ihope some one will break it down simply so I do not have to completely redo each one of these.
Thanks

Hi if you are not confident about editing an existing listing via your "my ebay-> revise listing" it would be best to forget the possible insertion fee credit on sale and just edit the saved copy to apply the new template and effectively list from scratch. It would be very much quicker assuming you have the listings saved on Auctiva.

It is very difficult to sort the alphabet soup because some sources of soup via Word and Front Page I am told are full of redundant fluff.

I have learnt enough to create my basic HTML listings now but find it is always better to create from scratch rather than edit the fluff laden soup, literally yuck !

Time is money and messing up a listing takes a lot of time to correct, ie not worth it.
I'm not trying to revise it in eBay, I'm just trying to update a saved listing in Auctiva before relisting it again. Is there any way to ditch the existing template and save my description so I don't have to do it all over again? When I try to select a new template it is retaining the old one and tacking the new on, is there a way to just delete the existing template and retain the description & photos?
Hi you do not say how you are trying to change your template.

When you open your saved listing to edit it there should be a 'Template Selected' panel maybe with the word 'Custom' in it too, about 2/3rds of the way down on the left, click on one of the options just to the right of it to modify, choose differeent or remove.

However if you have somehow corrupted the original there may be debris left over causing a problem that can be sorted out by using the removal option then looking at the HTML (sorry) and cleaning up then adding again from scratch.

Does that help ?
