Well it just took me 40 minutes to list just 2 auctions due to intermittent runtime errors and just across-the-board slowness of this website. I have the highest speed DSL you can get and it still takes 3-4 minutes for a page to turn everytime I click on Auctiva. This is ridiculous and I guess you really get what you (don't) pay for.

That may be true sometimes but it's not here. If it were nobody would use us. Yet, we're the biggest 3rd party on eBay so I can only assume that either we are offering a great service that people want or maybe everyone just has viruses that force them to use us.

To add insult to injury - nothing is posting either!

Todays problem is with eBays API servers. It's somehow creeping back into our servers even though our website was designed to be disassociated from eBays API servers because we know the eBay API was very poorly done and they constantly have problems like this.

Link to eBay community posting on their slowness: http://www2.ebay.com/aw/core/200609070827001.html

You'll notice most have no ETA on when they'll be fixed. This is the junk we have to do deal with.

Specifically in their first post is this:
quote:
Description:
A large number of HTTP 502 errors and timeouts may be seen for some calls, especially for international AddItem, VerifyAddItem, ReviseItem, and RelistItem calls
So they are having problems with timeouts and errors with add item and many other calls with no ETA for a fix.

I like Auctavia Big Grin , but am trying to post and its just sitting in scheduled saying posting for the last hour, wont let me reschedule, repost, delete etc.

Am trying to post to eBay UK who have a seller promotion on until 11:59pm GMT so about 2hrs. As the item is quite expensive i really wanted to take advantage of this, and also so it would finish on a Sunday night on a 10 day listing.

Take it that this 'slowness' is affecting all eBay sites etc.
While eBay is having this issue, make sure that when your listing says "Posting..." that you wait until you see a "Did Not Post in Time" error before you try to post it again.

We are working to get the item posted as long as it says it is posting. Your best bet is to schedule your listings and if any of them do not post within the alloted time, repost using scheduling.

We will let you know if we get any further information from eBay. Make sure to look in the NEWS section on this forum for site updates.

Thanks - Cara

Nice, so now we get sarcasm from the CEO? How professional.

You give sarcasm you get sarcasm I guess. I have been researching ALL third party hosters as I need support for international sites Auctiva currently doesn't offer, and if you think everything is peaches and light on the "pay" services, go read their forums and tell me
what you find. As for me, anywhere the CEO reads and responds to posts in the forums, I'm
sticking around.

Plus, I have a great respect for good sarcasm....
WinkSir Breeze, Lord of Sarcasm, I appreciate good sarcasm too. Why is everyone so uptight. Or mabey they just don't get it. You are right about the pay services. So far I have found Auctiva to be more responsive and more helpful than most I have dealt with. Jeff, You are doing a good job, I know it's not easy to be developing and dealing with customers on a new project. But thanks for hanging in there. I am sure I would resort to sarcasm too! Maybe you should add a smiley face to let people know that you are frustrated too. Blessings.
I am also on the UK site, and was trying to take advantage of the cheap listings today, however, gave up due to the slowness and message - not posted on time. I wasn't sure if it was me or Auctiva so I filed a support request, but see it's a general thing. Something similar happened the last time they'd a cheaper posting day too. Is it something to do with the volume of people trying to post to Ebay....which is obviously going to be higher when it's cheaper....anyway. I think Auctiva is a Godsend, fabulous and free ...I have no complaints. Just wish Ebay would sort out their servers.
