Confusion about Relisting

You should save the listings when you create them. Them there's no need to put them back into Saved after they've closed. Just relist from the Closed folder. Keep in mind that the relist will happen immediately - it can't be scheduled yet. That's something coming soon, I believe. From what I understand, you do get eBay's relist deal if you relist via Auctiva.

Well, I do save listings when I create them. But then you have listings stored in two different places, plus the inconvenience of them relisting immediately, which is unacceptable, because I try to time all my listings to end on Sunday or Wednesday nights. I'm glad you told me they list immediately, I did not know that. Based on what you say, now I think "closed" is useless too - when a listing is over, if it didn't sell, just send it back to "saved". Another downside is that I will eventually get mixed up and post the same auction twice, a new version and an old version. Even the term "import" makes no sense, why not keep it simple with "move"? I would like to think that Auctiva could save some money and storage space just by getting rid of the "closed" function.

I'd like to hear from some users who think "closed" is really useful for them.

The "Closed" folder is there so that you can re-list from it. I think one of the upcoming updates from Auctiva will allow us to schedule updates from the "Closed" folder, thereby enabling us to bypass eBay's 10-cent scheduling fee.

The listings you have in the "Saved" folder stay there - a copy is sent to eBay to make the eBay listing. There's no need to save a listing 2x, unless you have made changes to it and want to keep both versions.

If Auctiva "sent" closed listings to the "Saved" folder each time they didn't sell, we'd have a slew of them confusing things. By keeping them in the "Closed" folder they are segregated from the "Saved" so it is easier to keep track of what is what.

My point was more to simply eliminate Closed altogether. When a listing doesn't sell, it is still in Saved; the only new thing that would happen (if we got rid of Closed) is that the listing expiration date would appear in Saved. The system almost does that now.

But your comment gave me another idea for a new feature; a "suspected duplicate" function that you could turn on or off. Again, being able to arrange your Saved listings in title order "almost" does that, but I sometimes change the titles when I relist.
