I'm new to Auctiva.....I like it but lately when I upload perfect images they become much darker on Auctiva?? Please advise, is there a way to lighten images with Auctiva?
Hi - What are you comparing the Auctiva images to, your camera's LCD display or the original displayed on your monitor? Even if you are comparing the two images on your monitor, you may simply be seeing a difference in image viewing software.
As a check, I just uploaded an image to Auctiva and compared it side-by-side with the original on my PC as viewed with Microsoft Photo Editor. The Auctiva copy, viewed on IE6, had slightly less contrast (barely noticeable), but was equally bright. How do your images look when posted to ebay? You could boost the brightness with an image editor before uploading to Auctiva so that it looks correct to you when displayed online.
Thanks for your reply. I boosted the brightness some image using Picasa2 image editor but still when downloaded to Auctiva the show up noticeably darker, I'm baffled?

That is strange. When I compare an Auctiva uploaded image to the original in Picasa2, or Microsoft Photo Editor, they are all virtually identical.
Which is why I'd like to see it. I believe it, but seeing it may help figure out why. AOL used to munch images and really make a mess of them from some AOL automatic image compression they did that they didn't tell users about. People always said we made images look like crap. In reality it was AOL shrinking them so that things downloaded faster and hid how slow their crap dialup service was.
Maybe it's some sort of internet accelerator you're running that's doing something like that? Who knows, but seeing the photos should clear things up, no pun intended, pretty quickly.
Picasa2 has a different "Save" than some photo editing programs I have used. After you have revised your photos, click the save changes (above your pictures). If you don't do that first, you'll upload unedited pictures to Auctiva.
