Go to your account settings...make sure the little box is checked that says 'adjust for DST'. I think that will do the trick. (At least it worked in the spring )
I filed a support ticket last spring and thats what they told me to do, I filed another ticket yesterday to see if I needed to do anything this time and they told me I had to uncheck the adjust for daylight savings time box. So who knows what time my auctions will end next Sunday night. Its confussing, this should be set up so if you want an auction to end at 7pm you should be able to start it at 7pm, no matter what
I started a couple of new auctions last night at 7:00 pm Eastern Standard Time, have adjust for daylight savings time box checked. In my account, the correct time zone is selected. For both auctions, shows that they started at 6:00 pm Eastern Standard Time. I guess I will have to wait till next weekend, Sunday, after daylight savings time goes into effect to see what it does. Hopefully will be ending at 7:00 pm like I actually selected! Who knows.
I filed a support request just like lfuchs did so we'll see what they tell me. I looked back to last years questions about this and all the answes DID say to uncheck the DST box. But the Auctiva posters infererred that the change might be automatic in the future (now) although I don't think so, I couldn't find any announcements about it.
Sorry about the confusion. I would like to let you know that we have set our servers to automatically adjust the Daylight Savings time. You need not make any changes within your account settings. Then, the next time there is time change, the time reflected within your Auctiva account will update automatically.
Please let me know if I can be of further assistance.
Thank you, Auctiva Support
Now for the bad news.....if it's anything like last year, EBAY will have the time incorrect on the day following the change. I can remember following a couple auctions I wanted to snipe that both had about an hour to go...when I looked again, they had both already ended. One minute they were there, the next minute, poof!
I asked support to clarify what they told me earlier and they just got back to me this morning, to late for what posted last night. they gave me the exact answer you got but I was supposed to leave the box checked. I guess I will sit back and see what happens
I listed several items last night beginning at 7 PM PST. All are now showing that they will end next Sunday (after DST ends) at 6PM PST. I have checked eBay and all the community threads on the subject are relatively unhelpful and useless. Being one hour off on a Sunday isn't too big of a deal, but being off on a Tuesday, for example, can really mess up your bidders if they have a 9-5 job and can't easily get to the computer by 6PM. I'd like to list several other items on Tuesday and Thurs. of this week, but I'm a little reluctant to go with 7PM again. Should I just adjust it myself and start them at 8 PM instead?
