I'm sorry to hear about the difficulties you experienced. I reviewed the support case you filed regarding this matter and am under the impression that you have since been able to resolve this issue by updating your account to use the latest description editor we have available.
However, I figured I would update this thread as well in case any other users who are encountering similar difficulties come across this thread when looking for a solution to the issue.
Basically, there is a compatibility issue between the older description editor that is still being used in some accounts and the latest versions of Internet Explorer (specifically 10.0 and 11.0) which causes the description editor not to load, which can create the appearance that the descriptions of existing saved listings have gone missing.
If you are encountered this behavior, you will need to update your account to use the newer description editor we have available in order to create your descriptions using these versions of Internet Explorer. This can be done by mousing over the “My Account” tab within your account, selecting the “Account Preferences” option, checking the box next to “Use Design Editor v2.0” in the Listing Management section and then clicking the “Update Account Preferences” button below.
We have been gradually phasing out the older version of the description editor and it has not been available in new accounts for quite some time now. As part of this process, if you update your account to use the newer editor, it also will not be possible to resume using the older one once again.
Since this particular issue is specific to the Internet Explorer browser, you should also be able to work around the issue by using either the Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox browsers if you would prefer.
