Hello there
In many ways I like Auctiva.
the improved listings
free photos
scrolling gallery
and I have toadmit my listings look s-o-0-0 much better.
BUT
As I can only send & receive about 36 K (YES THATS a tiny fraction of 1 MB) I am finding Uploading my listings very time consuming and have gone back to Turbo Lister

Is there anyone out there in a similar position and if so what did you end up doing about it?

I've tried downloading MR POSTER but there does not appear to be support for the UK

Can anyone help
Gill

I just started using Auctiva and I'm on slower dial-up than you are (26.4K is my normal connection speed).

I tried Auctiva about a year and a half ago and found it really slow to use on dial-up. However since coming back this time I see many improvements which seem to make it faster on my slow dial-up.

One thing you can do that might help is to try to upload photos way before you are actually going to create your listing and try to do them in a sort of "off-season" timeframe.

I also have my description already all typed up and saved in Word Pad so all I have to do is open, copy, and paste and then do a bit of formatting.

So maybe try uploading photos when the Internet is not quite so busy. I've found that very early Sunday morning works well for me as most people are probably still asleep (I get up at 5 am)
Hi uploading pictures in bulk before constructing listings is always the best approach whether on dial up or broadband.

Similarly creating as much of your listing text offline using either an HTML editor or MS Word/Wordpad as a last resort (produces bloated HTML) and copy/pasting into the online editor will help.

The use of seller details, profiles and templates provided by Auctiva also mean common components can be easily replicated and attached to your listings once again reducing online editing time.

Even on broadband I recommend this approach to avoid internet glitches from losing all my work and I prefer to keep master copies of listing text and images backed up at home anyway. Smile
