Do I have to accept paypal?

I have an authorize.net account and only want to accept that as payment on ebay, I do not want to use paypal. When I upload an auction from auctiva it gives me an API error that says

"The specified PayPal email address was not accepted by eBay."

Am I getting this error because I must accept paypal on all auctions or is because I need to be approved by ebay to sell with a merchant account?

As long as you accept a credit card of some sort it should be good to go.
