A few points -

Firstly I love Auctiva and recommend it to every ebayer I come across on various forums, I've 'enrolled' quite a few newbies so I speak as a confirmed and regular user.

My big problem is the regular weekly shut down, I know that it's sensible to have it overnight US time but it's a real pain in the UK as it scheduled for Thursday night US time which is Friday morning here, it goes on right through till lunchtime.

Friday, for me and I assume other ebayers is a busy time to get listings completed ready for a Sat/ Sun launch so it's very annoying only having the afternoon to get the work done.

Would it make more sense to have the shut down on, say, Monday evenings US time?

I agree with you chinadogs. Thursday and the weekend days are very listing and shopping days and it truly does not make a lot of sense for them to do maintenance on those days. I think Monday evenings (US time) would be a much more sensible day.....however, we all KNOW they're not going to change it....it's not like there's THOUSANDS of complaints on here already about that very same topic! sheesh *sigh*

I have concluded this, referring to Auctiva "tech support"....they will typically only respond to you, us, tech requests, whatever...if it is something they can fix or have a "realistic and HONEST" answer to. I have found in my months of using this software and reading over the forums, that they (Auctiva) will simply NOT RESPOND to our inquiries regarding "why is the site down?" or "why are our pictures not loading?" or "when is the update going to be over?".

I have yet to see ANYONE here at auctiva address our many issues/complaints about the functionality of this site! I am not trying to create an "uproar" mind you...but it has become all-to-obvious that auctiva does NOT have the PR skills needed to address our issues and concerns about this sites' functionality. They just don't answer us...BOTTOM LINE!

It's sad, it really is. With the holidays approaching, you can truly hear the frustration and concern many of us have regarding the "future of auctiva". With the increased volume this site is going to have, I truly don't expect it to be functioning even at a 50% functionality rate!

Many of us that seem to get the most "upset" are those that do this for a living. We are not casual weekend listers, but we sell on ebay for a living. And when we get responses from the "diehard auctivists" about 'well, you know the site will be down on thursday, plan for it. work on listings or schedule listings ahead of time.' Well, I must say, that is all well and good, but that CATCHES UP WITH YOU! I continuously have products to list. I can only "postpone and prelist" so many items before I get backed up and I'm right back to downtime on thursday and sketchy functionality all through the weekend.

On more than one occassion, several of us had posted that we were willing to shell out a few bucks so that we could get the dependability that Auctiva seems to think they have, or "will have" one day. Unfortunately, by the time that happens, I'm thinking not a lot of us will be here as we will have had to leave.

All the downtime and updates are frustrating for both sides I'm sure. Not just ours, but Auctiva too. I'm sure they can count on 60 million "hate-mails" on update night and that has to be stressful in of itself! So it is no surprise to me that we never hear from them when the site has issues! They hace simply conditioned themselves to "block us out" and basically ignore us. Frown

I went to the Mister Lister section last night to perhaps work on some listings there because Auctiva free was just NOT working! *again* Well, I must say...that Mr Lister is definitely NOT a site for the business seller! No templates, no sections to add your policies...and if you cram all that info into your listing section, who will read it?! Noone, that's for sure! I was greatly disappointed that Mr Lister was so bland and weak of a product. I was truly hoping it would be a nice alternative for when Auctiva has site issues every other day when the moon is full and the monkeys are barking at midnight Big Grin *lol* (my attempt at humor in this all too important issue)

Anywaaaaaay, I digress. I just wish they would get this site all squared away. I wish they would STOP with the "added features" because all that does is cause the site to work slowly or not at all! I appreciate the fact that they are trying to improve and make a kick-a_ _ site for us all, but enough is enough already. THE SERVERS CAN'T HANDLE IT!!!!!!!

There are entirely too many people on Auctiva now (not that that's bad of course)...but it's bad...if you get my meaning. I remember seeing 1 newbie post a comment of "how do I get my 7000 listings ported over?" I almost sh_ _ my pants! (figuratively speaking of course Wink ) I mean, OMG! 7000?? and we think the servers run slow now?!! sheeesh. and that's just 1 person, who knows how many of us have that kind of volume on hear overloading the servers.

I think Auctiva should be run like this....if you have 0-500 listings you work on Auctiva FREE. If you have 501- 1500, you work on Auctiva "level 1" and perhaps pay $5 or whatever amount of money...and so on. Scale like that. If we have every powerseller on the free site taking advantage of the "freeness", Auctiva will NEVER catch up. They'll NEVER have enough server space and so on.

They truly need to break up the sites, like they have with their other products (mr lister, ebud) but do it with the options of Auctiva FREE. The other programs don't even compare in the "perks" you get at the free site which I truly don't understand!? Why would I want to start PAYING for those other services they provide when they stink in comparison to those I can get for FREE?? ummm....DUUUHHHHH. I wouldn't!

So, to end my little *note* Wink, that's what I think Auctiva should do. Offer ALL the products of the FREE site but in different listing levels depending on your volume. It seems very frustrating for the once-in-a-while lister to have to sit and wait when there's hundreds of powersellers on here clogging up the servers with their hundreds of photos and listings....(and I'm hoping everyone is DELETING their old listings and photos to help eliviate the "clog" on the servers).

I think the FREEness should be for the occassional lister, and I would be willing to pay a few bucks for these features...and yes I know we are all getting TOTALLY HORKED by feebay with all their increases, and no, I too really can't afford extra expenses, but think about the time and sanity we have all lost in dealing with these RIDICULOUS SITE ISSUES on Auctiva?! Is it not worth a few bucks a month, especially if you are a business...WRITE IT OFF at the end of the year I say!

However, it is going to be very sad, that IF that day ever comes with Auctiva, I will probably NOT give them a dime!!! Why would I? Look at all the issues we have now, and now they want me to PAY for that headache? Sadly, they are creating their own Catch22. Sad, just sad Frown

Auctiva, please oh please GET YOUR ACTS TOGETHER ALREADY!!! I don't want to leave, I'm comfy here....just fix yourselves already. *sigh*

Good day to you all....and *hopefully* we will all have a GREAT listing day/weekend.

HAPPY HALLOWEEN for those of you that celebrate Big Grin
