Hi kittykarma - Auctiva's image editor allows you to resize, rotate, and crop your pictures after you have uploaded them to the site. Begin on the 'Images' tab, and click the link "Manage Images". Mark the box next to the image you want to edit, and click the "Edit" button.

Since the editing features are quite limited, I prefer to edit my photos in my PC with a basic image editor before uploading to the site. This is necessary anyway to reduce the image size to Auctiva's 1024x768 maximum or less before uploading in order to significantly reduce upload times. This also has the advantage of many more editing features, such as adjusting brightness, contrast, color, sharpness, picture quality, etc.
Thanks for the reply. Are you telling me that Auctiva does not have an image editor that brightens or autofixes images? Isn't that a bit archaic? Everything else is available and I love Auctiva but if I have to go through all this hassle to edit my photos, I am going to have second thoughts. Photos are so important I just don't understand why Auctiva wouldn't make this process as simple as it is on Ebay's enhanced photo editing; insert UBS, upload photos, edit & enhance photos and you're done! Any thoughts? Kitty
Hi Kitty - You are right, Auctiva's editor is very lame - but since there are so many good, and free, image editors out there, what does it really matter? I don't view image editing as a hassle, but as an opportunity to take even a poor raw camera image and 'magically' turn it into a knockout photo that will motivate someone to buy my items over someone elses. For me it is fun and satisfying.

If you want minimum involvement however, autofix is often a good solution and is found on most editors. I do not use autofix myself because I can almost always get better pictures by manual editing, with very little extra time involved. As booklady mentioned, Picassa is very easy to use, includes great album features, and is free from Google.

To me, Auctiva's editor is irrelevant. I haven't used ebay's editor, but with all the great alternatives out there, you might want to try some out before deciding to ditch Auctiva. Smile
