Hey ~ I'm brand new & kind of shell-shocked by all the info...I want to open an Auctiva Commerce store but what's the difference between a domain name followed by '.com' or '.auctivacommerce.com' ?? I' prefer the '.com' Thanks!

Welcome to Auctiva! When you sign-up for an Auctiva Commerce store, you will be prompted to specify your business name and that will be part of your default store URL. For example, if you were to enter "buymystuff" as your business name, the default URL of your Auctiva Commerce store would be http://buymystuff.auctivacommerce.com
However, you could potentially buy any regular ".com" domain that is available and point that domain to your Auctiva Commerce store. For example, assuming the domain "buymystuff.com" was available (which it isn't), you could purchase that domain and point it to your Auctiva Commerce store and that would allow buyers to reach your store by going directly to http://www.buymystuff.com
If you would like to purchase a custom domain for your Auctiva Commerce store through our service, you can do so by clicking the "Store Domains" link under the "Store" tab within your Auctiva.com account and then clicking the "Purchase a Personalized Domain Name" link on the ensuing page.
