I am trying to start a listing. I had a DVD made from all of the photos taken on my digital camera because when I tried to download the photos directly to my computer, I was unsuccessful. I don't think I have sufficent memory. From the DVD, I stored the photos to a file. I am currently trying to download one of the photos from the folder and all I get is the message uploading, however I do see the photo when going in to select a particular image, but it does not appear in the Image Selector when I open it. It indicates no photos were found. I am currently using Windows ME and dial up. Please Help! I've been working on this for3-4 days. This will be my very first listing and I an eager to get started and dont't want to invest in buying updated equipment until I'm sure this is going to work for me.

Hi what resolution of pictures are you trying to upload to Auctiva (rather than download).

Any greater than 1024x768 I believe are cropped at Auctiva, and even those will take ages on dial-up. So larger files uploaded waste a lot of time.

I suspect you are trying to upload much larger pictures and on dial up it could take hours per picture and the transfer would probably die in the act.

You need to reduce all the images on your PC before uploading and bear in mind not many buyers will be able to display even 800x600 images with out irriatingly slow listing loading and much scrolling which equals buyer gets bored before bidding and goes elsewhere. Frown

Unfortunately you really need a Broadband connection to survive (sanity-wise) with on-line editing such as on eBay and Auctiva.
Download/Upload??
what are downloading ??
Got me confused here.
Well if your having trouble UPLOADING.in other words from your desktop computer to cyber space.
Are you trying to upload from the DVD?? if so that won't work. You need to put a pic on the computer first inside a folder the UPLOAD to cyber space
That in BOLD is what you said.
From the DVD ?? got me here. You don't or cannot put photo's in a file they have to go into a folder
I am currently trying to download ? What are you downloading & from where.
If you would be more specific as to where these pics are stored then maybe you will a better answer than this.

__ALWAYS UPLOAD YOUR IMAGES BEFORE YOU START A LISTING!! --yes I'm yelling!!

You can upload images directly from your DVD!! What size(how big) are they? You can get the kb from the select box.

1) USE THE UPLOAD IMAGES link from the main IMAGES PAGE!
2) Choose the: Drag and Drop Uploader
3)Bottom left: Select
4) Select the drive that your DVD is on(mine is D)
4)click on the images you'd like to upload (one at a time) OR! hold down the 'ctr' button on your keyboard and choose mutiple images. Click OPEN.

The image names should now show in the box.

5) Make sure the FOLDER reads NO FOLDER

6) Click: UPLOAD.

A progress bar will display, then a completed screen.

Go to Manage link, right top. Check to see if they were uploaded to the nofolder folder. :-)

NOW, go do a listing, and choose your images that are already uploaded.

1) make sure that the image picker is on ALL FOLDERS, that way, it shows images that you might have put somewhere else.

List away.
