Just talked to ebay rep who informed me that if you refund someone they are not refunding the shipping commission. Only the actual amount of the item's commission. So on each item you refund they are retaining a cut of the shipping.

I went nuts, and said that is first unethical and probably not legal, that it is stealing from the very people who feed you. Girl said, well, it is not stealing because if you keep list and call us we will then refund you. I do not go over my invoice with a fine tooth comb but sure assumed they refunded all of the commission you paid. She said, they are trying to think of a way to do this. I said perhaps some of these NEW AND IMPROVED (see my other rant/post for today) things you are introducing this should be fixed. You are keeping peoples money that truly DOES NOT belong to you and have been for months and months now.

If you call them, please mention that this needs to be fixed.

I am truly amazed as this sinks to a total new low to me!

Hi- I got my information from their agent on the phone. This agent happened to be a seller and shared some of the feelings I had about this, but did probably as she has been told to do. When I said, this is pure STEALING from us. She said it is really not stealing because if the seller calls us we will refund it.

You have to give them a list of each auction number. According to the rep people call with 10-15 auction numbers at a time. (I do not sell enough to have that many in a month).

She also said the only way to know (besides an honest rep - my thought) is to look at your invoice and it will show it. I scan my invoices, but do not go line by line.

To me this is like someone at the gym taking money from my pocket while I am working out, then saying, well if you know I did it I will refund it if you call me on it, but you have to tell me exactly how much I stole.

I am ASTOUNDED they are doing this to be honest and makes me wonder that other things are going on that we do not know about concerning invoices.

Obviously, I can't guarantee 100% that her information is accurate and would guess for obvious reasons this is probably not "written" anywhere. Who wants to admit in writing that they are keeping money that does not belong to them.

To me this rep was probably the BEST I have had in last few weeks. She is a seller so she knows more than an agent who does not. I was NEVER put on hold for her to find out the answer. And I had 5 totally different issues and she helped with all. Since their conversations can be recorded I can't imagine her giving out inaccurate information, especially telling me to to call back with auction numbers and they will refund ship commission. To be honest, I never broached this shipping issue, I just casually mentioned that I tend to refund people if I overcharge them on shipping and she replied with that information.

If you call with auction #'s and they refund you let us know. I have not had refunds in last month and figure if I go past they it is crap shoot if I get and to be honest do not refund enough that it is HUGE issue for me. But with sellers who sell and refund a lot it could mean $$$$ that really matter.

Thanks
