Unfortunately, this isn't as great as eBay makes it sound. They say they will remove neutral and negative feedback given due to buyers being unhappy about customs. But, then they tell buyers exactly how to circumvent the whole issue by tipping them off about what not to say in the feedback. Now, unhappy buyers will still leave the negative feedback; they will simply know NOT to mention customs fees.
I for one am not going to come running back to eBay under THOSE terms.
The boycott will remain in effect until ebay complies with ALL our terms:
1. Ability to leave warranted negative feedback for buyers.
2. Untie DSRs from so-called Best Match and incentives. Reason: DSRs are too arbitrary.
3. Release PayPal funds immediately.
4. If ebay insists on forcing sellers to accept PayPal, then eBay must prove it's altruistic motives by not charging for PayPal. Otherwise the motivation is clear: More money.
5. EBay must listen to the community as a whole.
Not just their precious top 200.
6. EBay must make fees completely reasonable. We understand they are there to make money. But, so are the sellers. They cannot continue taking 35-65% of a seller's profits and provide little to nothing in return, and still expect us to be happy to give up more!
7. We want respect.
Those are our terms. I for one will not return to buy off ebay until they agree to those terms. Although I am not a huge seller, I will not sell either.
Join the boycott,
It IS working,
Tim

I also have been boycotting eBay. Their 'improvements' over the past two years were extremely damaging to my once profitable business. Not only do I refuse to sell there, I also do not buy there - and I encourage others to do the same.

I find these recent announcements to be insulting. It's as if they think we are dumb enough to be placated by something as obviously unhelpful as this latest announcement.

Sorry, I didn't mean to turn this thread into an anti-eBay rant.

I really like Auctiva's new newsletters!!
I want to list a LOT of items on eBay. I have sold for 10 years. I'm NOT going to do it. I just got unfairly dinged for 'shipping time' on an international transaction. I posted it the day after closing.
What's wrong with this picture? I'm not responsible! I can feel bad enough about myself without eBay making me feel bad.
I also have NO idea why she dinged me for description, it, and my photos were totally accurate! Even showing size.
I'm fighting for visibility and now this sets me back. My 'hits' on my art listings are down over 70% to 18 months ago. And nothing I've done has changed.
I directly say Best Match has caused it as it does NOT work for the ART category - and DSRs are just as stupid, and of course only exist because of BM.
Stupid eBay - spoiling what was once so wonderful and much fun.
It might be 'the day the music died', but BM and DSRs herald 'the day that ebay died'.

Sad, sad, sad.
