This is my first time to list with Auctiva and I'm fairly new with eBay as well. I scheduled my listing at 2pm. Prior to 2pm I edited the listing and changed the schedule to post at 6:30pm. Hours later the listing finally showed up with a 2pm time of listing end. Auctiva had me down as having 2 active listings, both the 2pm one and another for 6:30pm for the same item! I went to eBay and 'ended the 2pm auction early'. Can be this be avoided in the future? The 6:30 listing still is not coming up on a search but there is still hope as the other one took over 5 hours. Auctiva still lists 2 active listings despite the fact that one has been terminated. Will I be charged for two listings and if so is there a way to contest that? I can't find a way to communicate with Auctiva directly. THANKS!!!!!

Don't know why they both would have posted at different times, unless you forgot to change one of them?

YES ebay will charge you for 2 listings even tho you only have one now...send them an email, it can't hurt. Depending on who reads it, they will sometimes refund your fees. Auctiva has nothing to do with that, they are a FREE listing service and a seperate entity in that respect. Ebay is the one to go to about fees, etc. Auctiva saves every one of your listings until you delete it, so yes you can still see it there. But are you SURE you ended it thru ebay? Did you go to the site map, put in the item # and 'end listing'?

The ONLY sure way to know if your listings have posted (even if they're not searchable yet) is if you can see them in 'my ebay' under 'selling' in the left column. It's also not unusual to take a few hours to show up in a search.

You can communicate with Auctiva directly thru the help link at the top of the page (and they are wonderful people) but in this case I wouldn't think it necessary.......
Hi Linda from rainy Seattle - I think perhaps the reason you wound up with two posted listings is that after you edited the 2pm listing, you probably clicked the 'Schedule' button on the listing page to enter your new posting time of 6:30pm. Rather than simply re-scheduling your listing, this would have scheduled the listing anew, without canceling the original post time. To prevent two postings, you would have had to manually cancel the original post time from the 'Scheduled' folder.

An alternate, and preferred, way to change your scheduled post time is to go to your 'Scheduled' folder, checkmark the listing, then click the 'Edit Post Time' button, and change the time. This would simply re-schedule the listing that has been saved, whether it is original, or edited. If you need to do further editing you can click the 'Edit Listing' button and edit. Just click 'Save' when you're finished, not 'Schedule', since it is already scheduled (unless you want multiple postings). By the way, if you edit a listing that has already been scheduled, after clicking 'Save' you will then get a red notice at the top of the listing page to confirm your save(do this at the bottom of the page). This is because you are saving over a listing that is already scheduled to post.

It is normal for Auctiva to show a listing that was terminated early as still being active. A glitch I suppose. If ebay doesn't refund your fees, I would contact them and request the refund. They will often do that for you, if you are polite. Since ebay is the one charging you, Auctiva has nothing to do with the refund of fees.

I hope this is more clear than all the mud you have been getting in your part of the world. Smile

Wow, you guys, (I'm originally from PA where the term is generic), are awesome!!! My 6:30 listing still wasn't on the search list at 9am this morning while the 2pm one was listed as 'ended' as I had successfully 'ended' it 'early'. I had trouble getting onto the auctiva site to see what happened but eventually, (after a little prayer and resulting peace of mind), I found my 6:30 listing posted and on the search list. Yeh! And I have sent eBay a very polite note of explanation about my newbieness with request for forgiveness! Thank you for the great insider info! And I have enjoyed your good natured banter as well! Have a very merry and blessed Christmas season and a happy new year! And yes, it is very wet here... Cool Linda
Hi lindawh216,
Glad you got things worked out Smile
When I first signed up I also posted duplicates (a couple of times)...the first time Ebay credited all my fees, the next time they didn't. Takes a little while to get the hang of it.

BTW. Merry Christmas to you too! So you have the rain, here in Chicago we're having sleet & ice storms, let's see, ninth_wave is probably sitting by the pool somewhere in the sun Big Grin

Can't wait til summer is back....
