Editing Custom Templates

I don't know if there's an easier way, but what I do is copy the html from the template that I have saved, and create a new template, paste the code in and make the necessary changes, then save under a different name. I think that I have 5 versions of the same template saved - just minor changes.

I figured it out and I am happy. I don't have a template!!!

In the description area I paste in the html code and then I can edit in design mode.

I do not know for sure but I suspect you are going about this the wrong way. To creat a custom template, using one of your own or one of Auctiva's that you wish to edit, you simply need to go to our Custom Template Page or when you are signed in go to the "Listing" tab, on that page look under the Template section and their is a link marked "Create" this will take you to the same page.

Any ways you can paste your HTML in here. Make sure to name your template at the top. Switch to "Design Editor" and place the tags to the left where you want them to display inside the template. Then be sure to "Save". When you go to list an item you will be able to choose this custom template for your listing. To edit the template for change of texture, Background images, layouts, etc.... you may go to the Manage Custom Template page and either create a new custom template or create a new template from an existing one. brent are you auctiva staff? do you have im? there use to be a phone number to auctiva help. i don't see it.

Yes I am Auctiva Staff. I do not have IM. But you can find the info you are looking for here and by checking the other threads in this community forum.

so everytime I want to edit the background..I Have to create a new template..this feels cumbersome.

I would recommend giving it a try, Work through the issues you might have getting one done properly, then go back and edit that with the new image you want to swap out. I think you will find it will be super easy. Best of luck.
