I am new to Auctiva, but find that I am having constant problems with formatting done by the editor. For the most part, I create my listing using Word and then copy and paste it into the editor using Paste from Word. The result is that my spacing is changed significantly and any bullets that I have used are also changed. I then find it very difficult to make corrections in the editor.

In reviewing the discussions, it seems as if this has been a problem for a lot of people. However, I do not see that any staff from Auctiva has provided any answers? Has there been any acknowledgement of a problem? Is Auctiva trying to fix it?

Also, on the full size editor, is it me or are the "switch to html mode" and the "switch to text mode" selection buttons backwards. When I click on switch to html, I get the text version and when I click on switch to text, I get the html version. Am I right or am I crazy?

Thanks for your help. Have a great day!

Papa D,

Unfortunately, the editor issue experienced by several of our users has been something we've been unable to replicate in the office. Here are a few things you can try that may hopefully alleviate this issue:

1) Make sure you are using the latest version of either Internet Explorer or Mozilla Firefox. A free download of Firefox is available at http://www.mozilla.com .

2) Make sure you have downloaded all of the latest Windows updates.

3) Run an adware or spyware removal program. You can first try the free program called AdAware. But there are some who say that doesn’t get all the really hidden spyware that Webroot can find and get rid of. Here is a link to a free version of AdAware: http://www.download.com/Ad-Aware-SE-Personal-Edition/30...0399602.html?tag=pop . It's been downloaded over 165 million times. I've used it a lot and it works pretty good. But I am very careful not to get spyware. So I honestly don’t know if it's as good as Spy Sweeper.

4) Run a virus protection program.

5) Also, try clearing your cache. This most likely won't resolve the editor issue, but it is a good thing to do anyway.

These are all things that should be done at least once a month to keep your computer safe, updated, and running quickly. I sincerely hope one of these will resolve the problem.

Papa D,

Sorry I overlooked that part.

Actually the design editor is the default, so the "Switch to text mode" link is used to change to html mode.

Once you are in text/html mode, the option will change to "Switch to Design Mode".

So, basically, text mode and html mode are the same thing. The alternative is design mode.
