Email Template Question- can they be automated?

Is there a way to automate the email templates (besides the auto feedback)? I would like for an email to be sent at either a set amount of time after an auction ends or perhaps when payment is recieved, or maybe even some other times. Automated emails, that is. If not possible on Auctiva, is there a service that provides that?

I had thought there was a way through Paypal (maybe)?? I really don't know for sure I've never looked into it....
