It's been a while since I've listed auctions for sale and I'm having trouble with the "Shipping Details" portion. I have a fixed rate for shipping that I want to charge. I believe it is actually lower than what it will cost to ship the item. I keep getting this error message:

"eBay listing failed to pass validation for the following reason:

eBay has placed a shipping cap on the first flat rate domestic shipping service for certain media categories. For the primary category that you chose, the cap is set to $15.00. Please change your first flat rate shipping cost to a value equal to or less then this price."

The item is a video game console with accessories and games included. The category is "Video Game Consoles". I will ship parcel post or UPS.

Thanks for the help.

Hi rbauctions,

Thanks for posting your question here. I just had a chance to look into your situation and confirmed that, as the error message you have received indicates, eBay requires that you offer at least one domestic shipping service that is available for no more than $15.00 to successfully post your item to the category in question.

You can read more about the Maximum Shipping Cost policies that eBay has put in place for select categories on the following page of their Help index: http://pages.ebay.com/help/sell/maximum_shipping.html

If you are unable to feasibly offer a flat rate domestic shipping service for $15.00 or less, I recommend using calculated shipping instead to charge the actual shipping cost based on the package information you provide, the service you select, and the buyer's location.

I hope this helps clear things up.

-Mike
