I'm going to attempt to sell an item for several thousand dollars. I don't think it'll sell, actually, but the owner wants that much, and hopes it'll sell internationally. We usually accept Paypal, but we usually deal with inexpensive items. So the question is, should we accept Paypal? I'm afraid of having the payment reversed. Should we accept checks only? And for international bidders, what payment should we accept...international money orders? What do we need to know? Any advice will be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

well many questions and thoughts on my end. either way if you take paypal/credit card payment can be reversed. check can not.

international may be tricky for customs and duties because the buyer will get wacked on taxes/duties. so that may not happen. I would be more carefull with international bidders on a high ticket item. confirmed address would be the only way I would ship anywhere.

not sure if this helped at all...
I don't sell internationally but I see many possible problems with your scenario...yes, the Paypal thing, for sure, plus the fact that the majority of other countries are not physically able to have a confirmed address.
If you take a money order or check of some sort you will have to wait forever for it to clear (when I used to take personal checks I had one bounce AFTER 30 days...who knew!)
Doesn't sound good for buyer OR seller...I'm sure there's an easy answer but I don't know what it is. Hopefully someone with knowlege of int. sales will come along.....
