Hi,

I have used two templates that auctiva has for free. And customized the shipping and payment information for both templates. At first I had trouble with the "one and only one description tag" error, but I got past that and both are saved.

I don't understand how to use these templates to list on eBay because when I go to eBay and create a listing, copy/paste the HTML of a custom template into the eBay menu, the pictures and template don't load properly.

Please someone tell me how to properly use the custom templates to work. -Also my "token" isn't functioning, (in case that's relevant) as when I go click generate, then click agree, I get nowhere, and am stuck at the same Agree/Disagree option within eBay (when eBay asks if its ok if it gives away information to a third party.)

I'm sure someone will correct me if I am wrong - but I believe that the templates are set up for listing through Auctiva as there are codes that only Auctiva will recognize.

As for the token - you do have to sign into eBay and authorize for the third party (Auctiva). After you authorize that - you should be okay.

You could try the typical clearing of your cache, cookies, etc, if eBay is not letting it continue. It could be something on their part as well.
Hey grammas, ok, now the token is working for me. -I don't know why it wasn't before.

So now with the templates, how do the description and shipping, etc tags work? I clicked on create new listing, but I don't see how I can use my custom templates. I have the shipping and payment information set up, and would not want to copy/paste it into the template everytime. I just need some help to understand the template system better. Thanks
Hey Gabe,

Go ahead and fill out the listing page. As you get below the area where you choose the images you want to use for your auction, you will notice an area where there is a link to "Select Template", click this link. Next a popup page will appear where you can choose any template we have or click on the category "Custom" to choose one that you created. Next click on the "select" button under your template. The next page is where you can "modify the layout" (big talk for change around the inside elements of your template). When you are done with that you need to click on the "Save to Listing" button to the far left. This will take you back to the lister page where you will notice a box to the right of the "Template Selector area" where you can choose to use one of your "Payment and Shipping Details" profile. Hope that clarifies things for you. Best of Luck.
