I am having trouble wiht new listing thumbnails not showing in gallery on ebay.
They are showing correctly when I edit the listing - they show gallery activated and the correct html to the auctive hosted photo.

When you finished your listing on Auctiva did you check for errors? I had the same thing happen and it turned out that I hadn't checked the "gallery" box under marketing, or whatever it's called, that tells them I'll pay the extra .35 for the gallery pic.
They've caught several errors of mine, so now I always click it. Otherwise, apparently, your listing will go to eBay with errors. Usually eBay will find them before they let you list, but here you actually have to ask them to check for errors.

In order to select the gallery option when listing through Auctiva, you just need to select your gallery image from the "Select an Image" box labeled "Gallery", as well as check the box next to "Gallery" in the "Marketing Tools" section of the listing.
If you configured your listing properly to utilize the gallery feature, and your gallery image did not show up once the listing was posted to eBay, please file a support request using the appropriate link on our help page: http://www.auctiva.com/free-auction-software-help/help.aspx
