I'M SHOCKED STUNNED and amazed to find all auctiva templates "contact us" links uses my DIRECT EMAIL instead of EBAY "ask seller a question" link. HOW DO I GET RID OF THIS IMMEDIATELY??? I'D RATHER HAVE NO CONTACT AT ALL, B4 GIVING MY EMAIL IN AN AUCTION. LAST WEEK i GOT A FISH.. OR PHISH, WHATEVER, LOOKED LIKE EBAY, BUT CAME DIRECT IN MAIL, NO MSG ON EBAY. JUST DIRECT EMAIL WANTING ME TO BARGAIN-OFF SITE. PLEASE HELP.
B4 I START EDITING EACH LISTING, WHERE DO I TURN THIS CONTACT OFF? IF I CAN'T THEN I'M NOT USING ANY TEMPLATES AT ALL, JUST IMAGE URLS, HOW DO I GET IMAGE HTMLS ALONE TO CUT AND PASTE?

WHAT COULDN'T AUCTIVA HAVE THE FORESITE TO KNOW THAT EBAY USERS WOULDN'T WANT DIRECT EMAIL CONTACT? OR IS THIS MY FAULT? DID I MISS THE BASICS WHEN I SIGNED ON? I DON'T RECALL SEEING AN ENTRY PAGE FOR AUCTIVA TO WARN OF ALL THESE PITFALLS IM DISCOVERING WHICH EAT UP ALL MY TIME. TONITE I'M MISSING THE EBAY 20 CENT SALE, BECAUSE I NEED TO LEARN AND SOLVE THIS.
Hi Flipsout,

You can remove these links from each of your active listings via the following process:

1) Visit the eBay listing and click "Revise Item"
2) Click "Edit Description"
3) Click the " Standard" tab on the editor
4) Highlight the undesireable links with your cursor and delete them using either the "Backspace" or "Delete" keys.
5) Save your changes.

These links only appear in your listings if you are using the associated "Userlink" on the description editor toolbar. Since you do not want this link in your auctions, remove that link from your descriptions, item details profiles, or seller details profiles.

Thank you, Mike, I guess you're saying the worst, that I need to actually edit each listing. I do know how to revise an ebay listing to remove something, but thats just part of the problem here.
My apologies for the caps in my post, Ill try to be more solution-oriented here on:
My real question is this: Does auctiva have a simple means of providing a choice to its users, to select whether we wish to be contacted by direct email or by the safe, traditional, and I believe the Ebay Policy, of Ask Seller A Question contact method?
Thanks, and again my apologies to all for capital letters.... just a bad day for me. Thanks
I believe that the problem with putting in a link to "Ask the Seller..." is that it would be a dynamic thing. I'm fairly certain that the link on eBay includes the Item# of the listing and I don't think there would be any way for Auctiva to know what the item number is going to be before the item gets listed...

Maybe you can blame eBay for not making some type of TAG that can be interpreted on their system into the "Ask seller a question..."

As for how it works on Auctiva, you have to take the brunt of that one yourself.. That field is not automatically included, and when you did include it simply hovering over the link would have shown you that it is going to your personal email. You should always test things out before you use them for the first time. Assuming is a bad thing to do...

Mike
Hey Mike,
You're absolutely correct in all you say, and I certainly appreciate and understand your views, but I'm over it, its my fault for assuming. I have accepted my need to proofread, and I'm ready to move forward with more solution-oriented initiative(s).
My thanks to you, and all.
Bill (I guess my use of the forum name "Flipsout" was a little too prophetic on my part also) <smile> hmmm?
