API error means it was rejected by ebay. Some of the policies that might get it rejected include shipping, specifying that the seller is not responsible for lost items. other verbiage is about charging for shipping. you can get more info by checking with ebay or filing a support ticket. i believe the faq's here might also help if you look up insurance or whatever your api error specified.
That just is not right to not notify sellers when their listings don't post to eBay. When I used Auctionworks/Marketworks, they always emailed sellers when a listing would fail to launch and/or their system had different codes of WHY it didn't post, so you would KNOW WHAT to fix. I mean, within seconds of failing. That way when I'd check my email I'd KNOW and go right to fix it. This is what I just emailed Auctiva. They didn't mention anything of even "possibly" having this in the future in their reply.

Hello,
I have had many auctions fail to post for various reasons. The last listing service I used would email sellers when this happened but I never receive anything from Auctiva. This messes up my finances and plans. Is there a way I can be notified of listings that fail? I can't find any settings for something like that. Thank you.

Hi _____,

Thanks for contacting us regarding this matter. Sorry, auto-emails are not sent upon listing postings/failures.

If you have any additional questions or concerns pertaining to your Auctiva account, please feel free to let me know, and I’ll be happy to continue assisting you.

Sincerely,
Auctiva Support
Glad u figured it out. It is a big waste of time when you don't know what's wrong w/ your listing. Sometimes error check can't even tell you, and the other error link only tells you an error but doesn't specify. Auctiva should develop all errors to tell the seller EXACTLY what is wrong so we don't waste hours trying to figure it out. But glad you did.
