Hi Scottg & bizzy,

Thanks for helping to bring this issue to our attention. We have a received a number of reports of this nature since yesterday afternoon and, based on what we have seen so far, it appears there is a problem on the eBay side of things that is preventing them from creating gallery images from some externally hosted image URL's.

In each of the cases of this nature we have reviewed so far, the image that was submitted to eBay as the header/gallery image is showing up in the header area but is not showing up in the gallery, which is indicative that eBay has the image URL but has not been able to make the copy for display in the gallery.

We have compiled several examples of this behavior and opened a support case with eBay's Developer Support team to make sure they are aware of the problem and hopefully it will be resolved in the near future, but I would also recommend that anyone encountering this problem report it to eBay's customer support team as well.

I have not received any details suggesting when the problem may be resolved at this point, but I will keep the threads about this issue on our Community Forum updated as additional information becomes available.

FYI. . check your active listing do not just go by email, as I did NOT get email and have same problem.

I called ebay support and amazed at how quick I got through less than 45 seconds!!!

She said they are aware of issue, they are not sure if it is just auctiva listings or other 3rd party vendors. They added mine to list. Obviously, the more who call the faster this will be worked on...just my thought, as an ebay rep told me once. . the squeaky wheel gets the grease around there.

Hi Community,

We just received an update on this issue from eBay's Developer Support team and they have assured us that this should no longer happen with new listings posted after this point. However, unfortunately, they also informed us that they likely will not be able to do anything to create these missing gallery images in bulk.

However, I have heard comments from a few users (such as lookandbuyme above) who have contacted eBay about this suggestion that eBay's technical team is working on the problem, so perhaps they will be able to come up with a method to fix these images in bulk based on reports from users.

If you have a relatively small numbers of listings that are missing gallery images, you should be able to correct the problem in those listings fairly easily using the eBay tool that can be accessed using the following link: http://cgi5.ebay.com/ws1/eBayI...ayGalleryImagePageV3

If you have a large number of missing gallery images and it is not feasible to fix them using this tool, I recommend contacting eBay's customer support team to see if they have any more efficient solutions that can be used on a case by case basis.

I will keep you all posted if I receive any new information about this situation.

-Mike
