Hi ,
In all of our eBay listings we have the following link : "View & search our Auctiva picture gallery" , which takes you to our showcase. Today , eBay in all of their wisdom pulled about 50 auctions because of the following :

We would like to take this opportunity to let you know what part of your listing is not permitted.

Your listing(s) contains the following information:

"View & search our Auctiva picture gallery" - active URL to: http://showcase.auctiva.com/auctionsbygeorge... Under all images on linked page are links to Auction Sniper which is not allowed

What can I do about this , if anything ?
George

Hi , I`ve contacted eBay powerseller support about this but I`m sure it will be awhile before we hear back from them & then it will be a canned response as usual. Is there any way you could go ahead & remove those links from the showcase so I can start listing items again. I must have someone out to get me to turn me in for such a trivial thing & they are probably watching my listings. George
Hi , found some additional information from eBay s site that specifically states that this is against the rules :

"Linking to Web sites that offer to trade, sell, or purchase goods or services, or including links for any purpose other than those listed above is not allowed. Prohibited links include, but are not limited to:

//snip//
Links to sites that solicit eBay User IDs, passwords or email addresses from buyers

Links that encourage buyers to place their eBay bids through a site other than eBay

//snip//

That info can be found here:

http://pages.ebay.com/help/policies/listing-links.html

under Additional Information."

Hi , found some additional information from

There is a policy about this that has been in effect for several years. I know it well and have had listings pulled in the past because of the links policy. Basically it says you can have external links that have information with photos and policies, but they cannot have any external links from them.

Here is the policy copied from eBay's site:
Policy A: Sellers may include links to photos of the item for sale. The photo pages may also contain discrete links to other pages that offer items for sale outside-of-eBay, but may not contain descriptions of or links to specific items on other sites.

Linking to Picture Galleries
Sellers may also link to a page where information relating to eBay or Half.com items is grouped in a picture gallery or similar format as long as the page otherwise complies with eBay's links policies. This gallery page may also contain discrete links to other pages that offer items for sale outside-of -Bay, but may not contain descriptions of or links to individual items on other sites.

Violations of this policy may result in a range of actions, including:

Listing cancellation
Limits on account privileges
Account suspension
Forfeit of eBay fees on cancelled listings
Loss of PowerSeller status

Policy b:

eBay allows sellers to place only certain types of links within an item description. (See the Links Frequently Asked Questions for the definition of a link.) Links that are permitted are listed below; sellers should review the specific link’s policy by clicking on it to ensure any links included in the listing adhere to the policies outlined.

One link to a page that further describes the item being sold in that listing
One link to your email address that opens an email client for potential buyers to ask questions about the item in that listing
Links to photos of the item for sale
Links to your eBay (including your eBay Store) or Half.com listings
Links to your About Me page (in addition to the About Me icon already provided by eBay)
Links to your “Add to My Favorite Sellers and Stores” page
Links that provide credits to third parties
One link to your listing terms and conditions (providing that the most relevant information is within the listing itself and that this page does not include any links off of the eBay Web site)

Violations of this policy may result in a range of actions, including:

Listing cancellation
Limits on account privileges
Account suspension
Forfeit of eBay fees on cancelled listings
Loss of PowerSeller status

eBay's Links Policy

What is and isn't allowed in your listing
The policies regarding including links in your eBay listings can be confusing at times. The following information will help you understand what types of links are allowed in your listings and why.

What is the links policy?
Why is eBay limiting links from the View Item page?
How does eBay define a link?
May I link to my Web site or Home page from the View Item page?
What if my Home page contains a further description of the item?
What links may I have on my View Item page?
What links may I have on my About Me page?
Why am I allowed to link to listings under my other User IDs from the View Item page but groups of eBay sellers are not allowed to do so?

What is the links policy?
Our User Agreement policy (section 5.1) only allows listings to contain "...text descriptions, graphics, pictures and other content relevant to the sale of that item." This policy prohibits links to Web sites, Home pages or any page that has items for sale outside of eBay. Such links may be allowed on the About Me page.

Further it looks like they've changed the wording on several of the policies without letting any sellers know they were changing them. It's been a while since I read them, but it looks like most of my listings they cancelled last year would qualify as good listings now. Maybe I should try to post some old items and see...
Hi , I really appreciate the speed in which you have taken to fix this problem. I still have not heard back from eBays powerseller support about it. eBay s attitude is really getting out of hand & it all does is make us work harder on our regular website where I can do business the way that I want to. Thank you ! George :-)
