I have just discovered Auctiva and I think it is simply amazing. However, I have a couple of queries:
1)how do I get the scrolling gallery to appear on my homepage/shopfront and not just in my individual listings?
2)How do I create categories for individual sizes for the various clothes categories? For instance, I would like all the clothing items in say size 10 to be displayed if a customer clicks on size 10.

Hi,

1) not possible, on listings only

2) categories in your Auctiva storefront are not as flexible as they are in an ebay store, you basically set up a set of search words to seek out like words in your listing titles.

So to search for Size 10 you would need '10' to be in the title of all size ten items and then set the search to look for '10' and label the search as yoou wish e.g. 'Size 10'. of course if the 10 represents something else in another type of item than ambiguity is a problem.

I have not found a satisfactory solution to this sort of ambiguity myself.

With the ebay store you can specify a previously defined ebay shop category for each item at the time of creating a listing. Unfortunately the Auctiva store only implements seller defined searches of the item titles, not the eBay store category. Quite different and rather less useful. Frown
Hi Community,

To follow up on ChooChooGuy's previous response, it actually is possible to place your Auctiva scrolling gallery in your eBay store wherever HTML is accepted. Your scrolling gallery HTML is available by clicking the "Scrolling Gallery HTML" link under the "Store" tab within your account. I've actually seen a number of customers of ours place their scrolling galleries on the front page of their eBay stores.

However, when you are placing the scrolling gallery anywhere that is not within an eBay listing, there is a small change that must be made to the scrolling gallery HTML for the links to work properly. Additional information on this modification can be found on the following thread of our community forum: https://community.auctiva.com/groupee/forums/a/tpc/f/255609321/m/5051012061

Thanks Mike I stand corrected and join the enlightened, I will have to look into that further myself, I knew that the SG could be used with a tweak elsewhere but I did not know we had enough access to our Auctiva store front to actually modify it.

Ok it seems to me that the SG HTML would be pasted into the "Header Text" window of "Store -> Edit Store Header" can it be put anywhere else like at the bottom.

Also is it actually possible to actually edit the store front HTML to customise it further ?
Hi N a common problem.

The eBay store is where you actually sell things from, I refer to the Auctiva 'store' as a 'storefront' because it is really just another view of your eBay store, click on anything in your Auctiva 'store' and you are taken to your listings on eBay.

Clearer ? Smile

edit - not sure which 'store' aspect was referred to originally so assumed Auctiva as this is an Auctiva forum and as the originator has not replied in return as yet I presume that answered the question.
Yes, I think I have a spot of sclerosis there about the reference to the Auctiva Store. I think I have mentioned before that I assume the Auctiva store is used for MUCH more than ebay.....and I think I"ve been very slow in separating the language etc.....

In my frame of reference.....tiny as it is....I only think about the ebay store sorry!
Sorry, I want to ask this follow up question.
I have alluded to this before but only in terms of "I think"

when people talk about their Auctiva store, are they or might they be referring to a Auctiva store on a site somewhere besides ebay?

Like I could put my Auctiva Store on a website (if I had any idea how to do that) and have all these features working there. Am I Correct?
Hi N,

When someone refers to his/her "Auctiva Store", he/she is referring to the Auctiva generated storefront that can be reached by clicking the link on the bottom-right of your scrolling gallery. Auctiva stores are free, customizable stores that display all of your active eBay listings at any given time.

Aside from clicking the link in your scrolling gallery, you can also reach your own Auctiva store by clicking the "Store" tab within your Auctiva account and then clicking the link next to "Your default Store Domain Name". The Auctiva store customization options are also available under the "Store" tab.
