How do you identify your items? No SKUs?

Hi folks,

I can't identify my items. I don't want to have a seller I.D. number in my title (I need the space) and I don't want to incorporate it within my listings; I'd need to open each listing once the item sold and it would be too time consuming.

Is there a service upgrade which can be purchased? Or have you found another way of identifying your items?
